Stop Wasting Money. Start Buying Back Your Freedom.

I help young working adults organise their finances, avoid costly mistakes and work towards financial freedom 10 to 15 years earlier — without giving up the lifestyle they enjoy today.

You are earning — but are you moving forward?

Starting your career should feel exciting.

But with so much financial advice online, it is easy to feel overwhelmed. Should you save more? Invest more? Buy insurance? Prepare for a BTO? Enjoy life while you are still young?

The problem is rarely a lack of information. It is not knowing which advice applies to you. Without a clear plan, you may delay important decisions, put money in the wrong places or spend years working hard without making meaningful progress.

I help you turn the noise into a clear, practical plan.

What we work towards

Four things a clear plan makes possible

Enjoy Life Without the Guilt

Know how much you can comfortably spend on travel, hobbies and experiences without compromising your future.

Stop Wasting Limited Resources

Identify unnecessary expenses, unsuitable financial products and missed opportunities before they become costly mistakes.

Build Wealth With Purpose

Invest according to your goals, timeline and comfort with risk — not based on trends or random online opinions.

Create More Choices for Your Future

Build towards the freedom to slow down, change careers, support your family or stop working earlier.

Why start in your 20s?

The decisions you make today have decades to compound.

A small mistake may seem harmless now, but it could cost you years of progress later. On the other hand, getting the fundamentals right early means you do not need to rely on extreme saving or a very high income in the future.

You do not need to sacrifice your entire lifestyle. You need a clear structure that helps you use what you already have more effectively.

How I help

I help you answer questions such as

  • How much should I save, spend and invest each month?
  • Am I paying too much for insurance?
  • What should I invest in, and how much risk should I take?
  • Can I afford my BTO, wedding or future lifestyle?
  • Am I actually on track for financial freedom?
  • What financial blind spots am I missing?

You leave with clearer priorities, practical next steps and a plan built around your life.

A personal approach to financial planning

I am not here to pressure you into making a decision.

Our first conversation is a chance to understand where you are, what matters to you and whether I can genuinely add value.

When we work together, every recommendation is explained simply and tailored to your circumstances. You should always understand what you are doing, why you are doing it and how it brings you closer to your goals.

Your 20s Should Build Your Future — Not Limit It

You do not need to have everything figured out before speaking to someone. You just need to be open to understanding where you are today and what you could do better.

About

Hi, I'm Meng Yong.

I help young working adults avoid wasting money and time so they can build financial freedom earlier — while still enjoying their lives today.

I started my career in financial consulting at a young age, so I understand what it feels like to be at the beginning of your working life. Your income is finally coming in, but so are the decisions. How much should you save? Should you start investing? Which insurance plans do you actually need? Can you afford to travel, move out or prepare for a BTO?

There is no shortage of answers online. The real problem is that many of those answers conflict with one another. The more you read, the less certain you may feel.

Why I Do This

I have seen capable young adults delay decisions because they are afraid of making the wrong choice. Others work hard and earn a decent income, but unknowingly waste money on unsuitable products, unnecessary expenses or investments that do not match their goals.

It is not always an income problem. It is often a clarity problem.

I believe good financial planning should help you enjoy life — not make you feel guilty for spending money. My role is to help you uncover your blind spots, organise your finances and make intentional decisions with the resources you have.

When you have clarity, you can stop second-guessing yourself and focus more of your energy on your career, relationships and the life you want to build.

Why Work With Me?

I have been in the industry for two years, but that is also why I can relate closely to young adults who are just starting their careers. I understand the pressures, priorities and trade-offs that come with this stage of life.

I do not believe in giving everyone the same solution. Your financial plan should reflect your income, responsibilities, lifestyle, goals and personal definition of freedom.

My promise is simple: I will help you see what you may be missing, understand your options and make decisions with greater confidence.

Services

How we work together

Financial Clarity and Cashflow Planning

We start by understanding where your money is going and whether it supports the life you want. Together, we create a practical structure for your income, expenses, savings and investments — without forcing you into an unrealistic budget.

  • How much you can comfortably spend
  • How much you should keep in emergency savings
  • How much you can invest each month
  • Whether your current financial habits support your goals

Insurance and Protection Review

Insurance should protect your future without taking over your present. I review your existing coverage, identify gaps or overlaps and help you understand what you genuinely need.

  • Hospitalisation coverage
  • Death and disability protection
  • Critical illness coverage
  • Personal accident coverage
  • The premiums you are currently paying
  • Whether your coverage still fits your circumstances

Investment Planning

Investing should be based on your goals — not fear, hype or whatever is popular online. I help you build an investment approach that considers your timeline, risk level, cashflow and future commitments.

  • How much you should invest
  • What each investment is meant to achieve
  • How much risk is appropriate
  • How your investments should be diversified
  • When and how your portfolio should be reviewed
  • How to avoid emotional decisions when markets move

Goal-Based Financial Planning

Your financial plan should connect directly to the life you want. Whether you are preparing for a BTO, wedding, career change, family responsibilities or early financial freedom, we map out what each goal may require. You will see which goals are achievable, what needs to change and what your next step should be.

Financial Freedom Roadmap

Financial freedom means something different to everyone. For you, it may mean retiring early, having the option to work less, changing careers or simply knowing that money will not control every decision. I help you estimate how much you may need, understand whether you are on track and identify ways to shorten the journey without sacrificing everything today.

Process

What working together looks like

01

Discovery and Fit

We begin with a conversation about your current situation, concerns and goals. There is no pressure to commit. This meeting helps us understand whether we are the right fit and whether I can genuinely add value.

02

Identify the Blind Spots

I review your cashflow, savings, insurance, investments and upcoming goals — a full gap analysis to uncover what is working, what may be holding you back and which areas need attention first.

03

Build Your Strategy

I create a personalised plan based on your priorities, resources and lifestyle. Every recommendation is explained clearly, with the pros and cons, so you understand the reasoning behind it. If there is genuinely no room to improve your current setup, I will tell you plainly — and the process ends there.

04

Put the Plan Into Action

Once you are comfortable, I guide you through the next steps. We focus on making steady, practical progress rather than changing everything overnight.

05

Review and Adjust

Your life will change. Your financial plan should change with it. We review your progress regularly and adjust the strategy when your career, income, goals or responsibilities evolve.

Testimonials

Real progress, not just more products

The purpose of financial planning is not to collect more policies or investments. It is to create clarity, confidence and measurable progress towards the life you want.

Before meeting Meng Yong, I had an adviser previously and had some policies that my parents got for me, but I still felt the lack of clarity in my planning and wasn't sure my portfolio was suitable for me. That changed completely after just a few sessions with him — he offered perspectives no other adviser had and helped me achieve my goals earlier.

After meeting Meng Yong, he gave me peace of mind, and I felt empowered in my planning rather than confused. I've since referred him 9 of my friends, including my parents. If you're feeling unsure about your financial direction, having a chat with him will be one of the best decisions you'll ever make.

Frequently asked questions

Good to know before we talk

I already have a financial advisor. Why should I work with you?

That’s great — most of my clients already had an adviser before working with me. After a conversation, most find they can free up more money, and many are able to accelerate their financial freedom timeline by 5 to 10 years. I’m just here to offer a fresh set of eyes; the decision is always yours.

Is this going to be a sales pitch?

No. Every conversation starts with understanding your situation, concerns and goals — not a product pitch. If there is no room to improve on what you already have, I will tell you plainly, and that is where it ends.

Do I need a high income before speaking to you?

No. Financial planning is about using your current resources well. Starting before your income increases can help you build better habits and avoid costly mistakes early.

Will I have to stop travelling or enjoying myself?

No. The goal is not to remove everything you enjoy. We create a plan that balances your present lifestyle with your future priorities.

What happens during the first call?

We talk about your current situation, concerns and goals. I will also explain where I may be able to help. There is no obligation to proceed.

Do I need to prepare anything beforehand?

You do not need to have everything organised. A rough understanding of your income, expenses, savings, insurance and investments is helpful, but we can work through the details together.

Can you review plans or investments I already have?

Yes. I can help you understand what you currently own, whether it still suits your goals and where there may be gaps, overlaps or unnecessary costs.

How often will my plan be reviewed?

Your plan should be reviewed when your life changes and at regular intervals. This may include changes to your income, career, relationships, housing plans or family responsibilities.

You Do Not Need to Figure Everything Out Alone

You may be earning, saving and investing — but still feel unsure whether you are making the right decisions. A conversation can help you understand where you currently stand, what you may be overlooking and which next steps matter most.

There is no pressure and no expectation that you must already have everything figured out. Come with your questions. We will work through them together.
